The short version
How the verdict is decided
Each side is priced asset by asset, then compared. Anything inside ±5% is called even — that band is noise, not an edge. Between 5% and 15% is a slight win, 15% to 35% is a clear win, and beyond that one side is giving up far too much.
The percentage is measured against the larger side, so a 10,000-for-9,000 trade reads as 10%, not 11%.
Why four numbers instead of one
Most trade calculators hand you a total and ask you to trust it. A total is not an argument, and a trade is an argument.
So each valuation is split into what the expert consensus says about a player at his positional peak, what the age curve then adds or removes, what your league format is worth, and what your league size is worth. If you disagree with the weighting, you can see exactly which term to disagree with.
Dynasty and redraft are the same page
Switching to redraft strips the dynasty age discount back out and re-applies a much flatter curve, because a redraft trade buys one season and nothing else. It also discounts rookie picks to 12% — you cannot keep what they become.
That is why a 32-year-old running back can be nearly worthless in dynasty and a genuine asset in redraft, from the same source data.
What this does not know yet
There is no live market feed. Values come from published dynasty consensus, not from observed completed trades, so the calculator cannot yet tell you what a player actually fetched this month. That feed is the next milestone and it is listed on the changelog.
It also does not price injuries, holdouts, or the news from this morning. Where a player carries an injury designation the calculator says so and leaves the number alone.
